Why this fair matters
The New Art Dealers Alliance is a non-profit network created to support new voices in contemporary art. NADA New York 2026 combines galleries, hybrid spaces and a broad Projects section, showing how local scenes enter an international market.
History and identity
NADA, the New Art Dealers Alliance, was founded in 2002 by a small group of New York galleries convinced that collaboration could correct rigidities in the art system. It has grown into an international non-profit network of more than 500 members. After NADA Miami launched in 2003, NADA New York reaches its twelfth edition in 2026, with 120 galleries, spaces and non-profits from 15 countries and 46 cities, including many first-time exhibitors.
Major fair or independent ecosystem?
NADA New York sits within the city’s spring art-fair week, but it is not a Frie New York section and does not formally depend on Frie. Their relationship is one of calendar and audience: collectors cross several events while NADA focuses on younger galleries and experimental projects. NADA Miami has a longer historical coexistence with Art Basel Miami Beach. In both cities, the alliance’s year-round network matters as much as the fair’s few days.
Artists to look for
Samuel Nnorom works with textiles and cellular forms; Layo Bright uses glass and the body to address identity and migration; Estefania Puerta builds sculpture and environments around metamorphosis and language. Treat them as starting points to verify through their presenting galleries.
How to resist pressure
Do not buy only because a work is held for a few hours. Request a full sheet, condition report, currency and payment fees, international shipping, duties and return policy before transferring funds.
